Scobell Previously Starred In 'The Adam Project' And 'Secret Headquarters'
Walker Scobell has been cast as the titular character in Disney+'s upcoming series "Percy Jackson and the Olympians." The 14-year-old actor will play the demigod in the adaptation of Rick Riordan's popular book series.
Scobell is best known for his roles in the 2022 action comedy films "The Adam Project" and "Secret Headquarters." He also had a recurring role in the Netflix series "The Society."
"Percy Jackson and the Olympians" is a fantasy adventure series that follows the adventures of Percy Jackson, a young demigod who discovers his true identity and must embark on a quest to save the world from the forces of evil.
The series is being developed by Rick Riordan, who wrote the original book series, and Jonathan E. Steinberg ("Jericho," "Black Sails"). James Bobin ("Dora and the Lost City of Gold") is directing the pilot episode.
Scobell joins a cast that includes Leah Jeffries as Annabeth Chase and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood. Virginia Kull has been cast as Sally Jackson, Percy's mother.
Production on "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" is expected to begin later this year. The series is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in 2024.
