Amadou Onana Transfer to Everton
Five-Year Deal for the Defensive Midfielder
Former Everton Manager Praises New Signing
Amadou Ba Zeund Georges Mvom Onana, a 21-year-old defensive midfielder born on August 16, 2001, has joined Everton Football Club in August 2022. The transfer fee remains undisclosed, but Onana has signed a five-year contract until the end of the 2026-2027 season.
Former Everton manager Roberto Martinez, who brought Onana to the Merseyside club from Lille, has expressed his excitement about the signing. Martinez described Onana as "one of the most exciting prospects in Europe" and believes he has the potential to become a key player for Everton.
Onana, who has played for the Belgian national team at the U19 and U21 levels, is known for his physical presence, tackling ability, and passing skills. He made 42 appearances for Lille last season, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
Everton manager Frank Lampard added, "Amadou is a great addition to our squad. He is young, talented, and already has experience at a high level. We are very excited to welcome him to Everton and believe he can be a valuable asset to the club."
