Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler Main Card Live On-Demand
UFC 303 Postponed
After much anticipation, it has been confirmed that the highly anticipated Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler main event at UFC 303 has been postponed. UFC CEO Dana White announced the news on Thursday, citing an injury to McGregor as the reason for the cancellation.
McGregor has been out of action since his loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. He had been scheduled to make his long-awaited return against Chandler at UFC 303, but the injury has forced him to withdraw from the fight.
The cancellation of the McGregor-Chandler fight is a major blow to UFC 303, which was already shaping up to be one of the biggest events of the year. The card will still feature a number of other exciting fights, including a light heavyweight title fight between Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev.
Chandler's Reaction
Chandler expressed his disappointment at the cancellation of the fight, but he said he understands that injuries are a part of the sport.
"I'm obviously disappointed that the fight has been postponed," Chandler said. "But I know that Conor is a warrior, and I'm sure he'll be back soon."
Chandler said he is still hopeful that he will get to fight McGregor in the future.
"I'm not going anywhere," Chandler said. "I'm still here, and I'm still ready to fight Conor McGregor. When he's ready, I'll be ready."
